Now it's looking pretty simple:
Since the JDM WRX wiring is different than the newer OBDII USD WRX and OBDI USD 2.2, I had to carefully trace each wire from the ECU and confirm where it was going.

Note: The "coil-on-plugs" on this engine are not the same as the USD WRX's. These coil packs are the same as the coil packs from a mid-nineties SVX engine. This also means that the SVX external igniter could be used as a replacement if ever needed.
