Crossbar Mount

The stock VW crossbar mounts to the frame via these ridiculously thin pieces of metal. I felt it was necessary for some strength improvement here.

My fix was to take a piece of 3/16" thick 90 degree angle and weld it against the frame.


This combined with the original piece of metal that mounts on the top of the metal flap, and new class 10.9 bolts and lock nuts makes this setup solid!
